Marine Animals

Un hippocampe qui s'accroche pour ne jamais être emporté, une pieuvre insaisissable, un corail qu'on offrait autrefois en protection. Des bijoux nés à cent mètres de la mer, à Nice et dorés à l'or fin.

The Mediterranean, Right at Your Fingertips

Our studio is based in Nice, and that comes through in our designs. The seahorse anchors itself by its tail to seaweed to withstand the current—a symbol of those who stand firm. The octopus, with its three hearts and an intelligence that still baffles biologists, embodies freedom and mystery. Coral, long mistaken for a marine plant, is actually an animal—a colony of thousands of tiny organisms that work together to build this plant-like limestone skeleton. It was once hung above cribs throughout the Mediterranean as a protective talisman.

Each design is struck using an antique die, hand-engraved in steel, according to a French process that has remained unchanged for nearly two centuries.

Brass plated with 24k fine gold, nickel- and lead-free, hand-assembled in our workshop in Nice.
