The Summer Sky

A swallow that returns every spring, a butterfly born of its own metamorphosis, a dragonfly that has been flying for three hundred million years—and a fairy, representing the lightest thing in the sky. Sky-inspired jewellery handcrafted in Nice and gilded with fine gold.

The Sky, a Timeless Motif

The swallow and the stork share the same legend: they return each year to the same nest, sometimes after traveling thousands of kilometers—hence their symbolism of return and renewal. The dragonfly and the butterfly end their lives as winged creatures, following a metamorphosis. The cicada, on the other hand, hardly flies at all—but its song is inseparable from the southern summer sky, to the point of becoming its auditory emblem. Finally, the fairy extends this winged imagination without quite belonging to the animal kingdom—she is the lightest and most fantastical thing in the sky.

These are also the designs that lend themselves best to openworkbrass stamping : the ribbed wings let light through, creating an effect that no industrial molding process can replicate.

Brass plated with 24k fine gold, nickel- and lead-free, hand-assembled in our workshop in Nice.
