Volgara's Iconic jewellery
The pieces that come up most often—the ones customers keep asking for and that you’ll find in our partner stores. Openwork filigree, dragonflies, bold cuffs—handcrafted in Nice and gilded with fine gold.
Juno was the patron goddess of women among the Romans—the one invoked at crucial moments, and after whom the month of June is named. She was a figure of quiet dignity rather than ostentatious power.
The cuff resembles her: its filigree pattern is exquisitely delicate, yet its shape gives it a real presence on the wrist. The openwork design lets light shine through, creating a lace-like pattern of metal that follows the curve of the arm.

A largely openwork angel wing motif spreads across the neckline. Gilded with 24-karat fine gold, this necklace plays with light and the open spaces in the design to create a piece that is both spectacular and delicate.
The design is created using the “ brass stamping ” technique, then cut out and openworked by hand. This process achieves the visual delicacy of filigree without soldering a single wire: the ornament is formed in one piece and retains the full presence of the metal.

Dragonflies have been flying for more than 300 million years. They can hover in place, fly backward, and change direction without slowing down: few animals embody lightness quite as well.
Art Nouveau made the dragonfly one of its favourite motifs, thanks to its finely veined wings, which lend themselves well to openwork. Our brass stampings retain this network of veins, which is so fine that it lets light shine through.

The design is spectacular: flowing lines, wings in motion, a pattern that follows the curve of the arm rather than resting on it. Every detail is sharp, right down to the feathers of the forked tail.

Why has this jewellery become iconic?
Familiar patterns
The openwork filigree of the Junon cuff, the dragonflies on the scarf necklace, the slender lines of the tassels: these pieces stand out without needing to be ostentatious. All feature traditional stampings—motifs struck from hand-engraved steel dies, using a French technique that has remained unchanged for nearly two centuries.
Pieces that transcend the seasons
None of these designs are seasonal collectibles. They have been worn since our inception, can be found at our retailers in Nice, Cannes, New York, and Kyoto, and continue to be ordered year after year. That is what defines their status: longevity, not novelty.
Handmade in Nice, in small batches
each piece of jewellery is assembled in our workshop in Nice, plated with 24k fine gold on brass, and guaranteed to be nickel- and lead-free. Our collections are intentionally limited—no mass production, no excess inventory.

The term “aiguillette” once referred to the metal-tipped cords used to fasten garments and adorn uniforms. The design retains that shape: long, tapered, and entirely openwork along its entire 8.5 cm length.
The brass is stamped and then given a patina, which gives the gold a deeper, darker shade in the recesses—an effect that would be impossible to achieve on a uniformly gilded piece.
