The Size Guide (which you don't need to read)
Why All Our Jewelry Is Adjustable
Brass lends itself naturally to adjustment: it is a metal that is flexible enough to close or open slightly, while retaining its shape over time. That is why we design our rings to be open at the back, our cuffs in an open style, and our chains with multiple attachment points.
The result: jewelry ordered online, without prior measurements, almost always fits the wearer.
Bracelets and Cuffs
Two sizes at Volgara, two fitting approaches:
The cuffs (Junon, octopus, swallow, cicada, coral, swallowtail butterfly, etc.) are open and C-shaped. They spread slightly as you slip them on and tighten once in place—the same gentle pressure as a ring.
Delicate bracelets and bangles (Alicia, Mélissa, Serpent bangle, etc.) feature an adjustable wrist size, typically through several attachment points on the chain.
How to Adjust a Cuff
Gently pull the two ends apart
Slide your wrist inside
Tighten gradually—without any sudden movements, so as not to strain the metal
Necklaces
Most of our necklaces feature a chain with multiple adjustment points, allowing you to choose how long you want to wear it—shorter, right at the neck, or longer, below the chest.
Scarf necklaces (such as the dragonfly design, 117 cm) don't need to be adjusted: their generous length allows them to be worn as a long necklace, wrapped twice around the neck, tied in a knot, or draped across the back over an open neckline—it's the way you wear it that varies, not its size.
Rings
All of our rings are open at the back. They can be gently adjusted to a tighter or looser fit between your fingers—no tools required—and fit most standard finger sizes.
How to adjust it
Gently open the ring by holding both ends
Slip it onto the intended finger
Gradually tighten or loosen until you achieve the desired fit
If you know your usual size (based on another ring—French, American, or British), here is the conversion:
(This chart is for reference only—since our rings are adjustable, it is mainly intended to illustrate the difference between sizes, not to help you choose a specific model.)
Don't measure your finger before ordering—that's exactly what the sizing guide is for. This information is only useful if you're curious about how the different systems correspond.
A risk-free gift
That's one of the great advantages of our adjustable jewelry: you can give a Volgara ring, bracelet, or necklace as a gift without knowing the recipient's size. Unlike a traditional ring with a fixed size, there are no unpleasant surprises when the package is opened.
A design choice, not a coincidence
Our jewelry is designed from the outset to be adjustable: this is a design choice that aligns with the spirit of our small collections—a single piece of jewelry designed to fit everyone, rather than having to manage a stock of different sizes. Discover the story behind our brass stampings →
Can I really resize a ring myself without risking breaking it? Yes, as long as you do it gradually and without using excessive force. Brass is easy to work with by hand, but sudden or repeated movements can cause it to wear out over time.
Are the sizes listed in the table guaranteed? No: since our rings are adjustable, they fit a wide range of finger sizes without requiring you to select a specific size when ordering
